Day 1
Discover the beauties of Northern Greece with this tour that drives you to places of extreme beauty and historical interest. You will visit sites such as the oracle and the tombs of the Macedonian kings that are symbols of the Greek glory and power. But you will also have the opportunity to visit the places that Saint Paul chose as destinations during his journey to preach Christianity.
Our tour starts in one of the slopes of mount Parnassus where Delphi and the oracle is.
The oracle was a temple dedicated to god Apollo where people or even cities could consult the god about important decisions which the god was giving through his priestess. The whole area around it was part of the sacred site and you will be able to see the treasuries, where the gifts were kept, the sacred spring called Castalia, the theater and the stadium where the games to honor the god Apollo were taking place. In the museum the statues and the treasures found in the site will make your visit more special.
After your meal we will head to Meteora.
Day 2
The next day after spending the night at Kalampaka, the small town in the shadow of Meteora we will visit two or three monasteries. These amazing formations are 131 meters tall and they were formed 65 million years ago. The monasteries surprise the visitors with their location as they are built on very steep rocks, and they are part of the rock now. Nowadays there are six monasteries open to the public that people can admire. We can make the experience as sacramental as the place can be. Then after your meal we will drive to Kastoria. Kastoria is a very beautiful town next to a lake that makes it look like an island. Is mostly known about the furs it produces, that according to the historians, in the middle ages were the best in Europe. Then we will drive to Thessaloniki where we will spend the night.
Day 3
The next morning we will visit Filippoi, the place where Saint Paul established the first church in Europe. The ancient remains also attract visitors as the city used to be very important in the roman period, such as the theatre, the buildings and the place where the first European Christian was baptized by Saint Paul. Before going back to Thessaloniki to spend the night, we will make one last stop at Amfipoli. In Amfipoli the finding that will impress you the most is the tumulus. An amazing edifice with beautiful art such as mosaics, wall paintings and statues.
Day 4
The next morning we will visit Vergina, the capital city of the Macedonian empire. The tombs and the treasures found in them, as long as the remains of the palace that Alexander the Great lived will offer you an experience to remember. The next stop of the day is Dion where you will wonder around the baths, the Odeon, the mansion and various temples and sanctuaries that will are so well preserved that you will see the city come alive. Then we will return to Thessaloniki for the night.
Day 5
