ARGOLIS - OLYMPIA - DELPHI - METEORA TOUR

By choosing this tour you will be able to experience both Peloponnese and the mainland of Greece. You will visit the most famous sites that Greece has to offer but you will also see the beautiful nature that surrounds the various areas.

Our first stop will be at the Corinth Canal, which divides Peloponnese from the mainland of Greece. After our short stop we will visit the archaeological site and the museum of ancient Corinth, which stands at the shadow of Acrocorinth. Before wander around ancient Corinth, the small but significant museum will give a taste of the city’s advanced civilization. The art, such as mosaics as long as ritual and everyday items show a very refined culture for you to discover. Then the art will come alive as you will walk among great architectural structures such as the temple of Apollo, and Bema, the place where St. Paul stood and talked to the people about the new religion. Next stop is the acropolis of Mycenae. There you will witness one of the greatest civilizations in Europe that has its roots in the Neolithic Era. The tombs of the kings, and the remains of the walls along with the famous Gate of the Lions, stand there and amaze us for centuries. Next is Nafplion where you will be able to enjoy your meal before wander around the town. Nafplion’s contribution to Greek history is that became the first capital of modern Greece. You will admire the neoclassical architecture and the Castles surround the town and then we will head to Epidaurus. The ancient theatre of Epidaurus located in the sacred Askleipieion astonishes the visitors with its acoustics but it also shows the Greek’s level of knowledge of the human soul. After Epidaurus we will head to Olympia where we will spend the night. 

At Olympia you will wonder around the place that the first Olympic Games were taking place at first as a religious celebration and then till today as a celebration of the human body and spirit. The next day you will visit the site that was sacred and dedicated to Zeus, the father of all gods and all men. Among the various buildings you will see the temple of Zeus where his famous statue was standing and the stadium of the Olympic Games that could fit 45.000 people along with the buildings where the athletes were staying and practicing. The museum is full of treasures ready for you to enjoy them to the fullest. .The beautiful statues will astonish you not only with their details but also with the philosophy behind them. The visit follows a meal at a local traditional restaurant and then we will drive to Delphi. On our way to Delphi we will cross the famous two kilometers long bridge of Rion, and we can rest at Naupaktos. Naupaktos is a small port but of great beauty and importance as it contributed a lot to the Greek history through all periods of its history. Then will reach Delphi where we will spend the night.  The next morning in one of the slopes of mount Parnassus we will visit Delphi and the oracle. The oracle was a temple dedicated to god Apollo where people could consult the god. The whole area around it was part of the sacred site and you will be able to see the treasuries, where the gifts were kept, the sacred spring called Castalia, the theater and the stadium where the games to honor the god Apollo were taking place. In the museum the statues and the treasures found in the site will make your visit more special. After your meal we will head to Meteora.

The next day after spending the night at Kalambaka, the small town in the shadow of Meteora we will visit two monasteries. Meteora, is one the most important religious complexes in Greece and in the Balkan Peninsula. The monasteries surprise the visitors with their location as they are built on very steep rocks, and they are part of the rock now. Nowadays there are six monasteries open to the public that people can admire. After your meal we will head to Athens by stopping at Thermopolis, world known battle field of the heroic 300 Spartan soldiers.

The charge for the tours and transfers is based on the vehicle used, therefore is per vehicle and not per person.

The price includes the driver and the vehicle. Our drivers are very knowledgeable and can give you all the information about the archaeological sites, ancient history but also modern life and culture, although are forbidden by law to enter the sites with you. If you wish someone to enter the sites with you, we can arrange for you to have a licensed tour guide with an extra cost.

Our prices include the driver with the vehicle, fuel and in case of a trip outside of Athens it also includes the toll fair and the driver’s accommodation. The prices don’t include the fees to the sites, meals and in case of a trip outside of Athens your accommodation.

Tips are not mandatory, it is up to your discretion if you want to give and how much!
